I used a Grisly bench top Mill/drill for a few years. Worked ok. Biggest problem is getting back to same spot after raising head of the machine to change tooling. Can be done. But hard to be extremely precise. Practical Machinist has articles on clever ways to get more accuracy out of these mills.
